FAQ

Q: How do you thaw Repti-Bites?
A: Repti-Bites MUST be air thawed at room temperature. You risk melting them if thawed in warm water, or near a heat source above 80*F. Air thawing at 75*f is the safest method.

Q: Are Repti-Bites re-freezable?
A: As long as they are still cold to the touch, yes.

Q: Are Repti-Bites whole prey?
A: All Repti-Bites contain blended whole prey as well as portioned foods (vegetation, organ meat, etc).

Q: My Repti-Bites melted when thawing! Can you give me a refund?
A: Unfortunately this is a user error, we cannot refund these.

Q: How often do you feed Repti-Bites?
A: That is species-dependent, however we recommend the same feeding schedule as other foods.

Q: How long is processing from order to delivery?
A: We ask you to give us roughly 2 weeks from order time to process your request. Sometimes we will have stock ready for immediate hand-over. Large orders may take longer.

Q: How long do Repti-Bites last in the freezer?
A: We vacuum seal Repti-Bites. They will easily last a year or more as long as the packaging does not get damaged. Once opened, we do suggest placing the open pack into a freezer bag, or vacuum seal bag if possible.

Q: How do you ship Repti-Bites?
A: Yes! We ship overnight (or 2 day zone depending on location). Summer may be a bit tricky, thus weather dependent. We suggest stocking up in spring just in case. Shipping costs will be roughly $28-$65+, depending on size of box and your location. We recommend ordering enough to make it worthwhile for shipping. Upon ordering, please email us your info if you require shipping. **Please note shipping cost is based on average! Your location or order may be different.

Q: Where do we pick up?
A: At our local Toronto Expo Colborne Ontario, or one of our affiliates!

Q: Help! My Repti-Bite is too big for my snake. What should I do?
A: Sizing can be a challenge due to the firmness of Repti-Bites. However you can easily cut them in halves or smaller for your pet.

Q: How many are in a package when I purchase?
A: Check out the Formulas description upon ordering. Each type has a count written. So for example 1 order of "Frog Sausage" is 6 pieces.

Q: Do you guarantee frozen or cold arrival to my home?
A: If we are personally delivering, or shipping, yes! If you pick up at our location or Expo, we cannot offer a guarantee as handling of Repti-Bites will be out of our control. Please bring ice packs and a cooler every time you pick up.

With shipping, Repti-Bites may be thawed on arrival depending on the time of year, however do not worry! If they are cold to the touch they can be frozen still without any problem. If they are room temperature, please provide a photo of temperature (via temp gun) within 1 hour of delivery. We cannot control where carriers leave the packages, so please have someone home.

Q: Do you ship outside of Canada?
A: Unfortunately due to CFIA, USDA and other country Federal Food Agency laws, we do not at this time.

Q: Are Repti-Bites only for reptiles?
A: You can use Repti-Bites for amphibians, fish and even gut loading your insects! They are extremely versatile.

Q: The sausages should be firmer, or with casing, why are they like this?
A: The sausages are made in such a way for ease of cutting if required. We also will not use casing as it adds unnecessary ingredients and will also rid the natural prey smell they give, and probably will not be as desirable to your pet. If they are to flimsy for you to use on hemostats, you can cut them in half as 2 smaller pieces instead of 1 big one

Q: Shipping is too expensive, can I get a refund?
A: A 50% restocking fee will be held back. So you can get 50% of your order cost back.
